Great news for GM: the Driver Assist system in all cars!

June 08 2018

Last year, with its CT6 sedan, Cadillac demonstrated its know-how, but also wrote a page of history with its Super Cruise Driver Assist system.

The first hands-free highway driver assistance function in the world plusieurs y croyaient plus ou moins. Super Cruise technology began commercialization on September 6, 2017. Less than a year later, General Motors (GM) Executive Vice Preisdent of Global Product Development, Mark Reuss announced that the technology will be extended to all models of the brand as soon as 2020.

Eyes on the road and on sales

With this latest announcement, GM is truly boosting the mass availability of technology. Safety and driver assistance are priceless, and that's what leaders are telling to us by extending their flagship technology.

For those who aren’t familiar with Super Cruise technology, it's a very precise analysis system based on map data using GPS, radar systems and cameras. When the system is activated, the vehicle completely controls the driving of your car, provided you have your eyes riveted to the road. An excellent tool for long highway trips.

In conjunction with cruise control, the Super Cruise system controls acceleration and braking when activated. For the moment, the Super Cruise system only works on limited access freeways that are separated from opposing traffic.

On Star

Currently, new owners benefit from 3 years of Super Cruise Connected Services and OnStar Safety and Security Plan coverage - which supports Super Cruise features and accident notification.

To continue operating after the completion of the three-year Super Cruise package, the vehicle owner must purchase a Super Cruise plan including OnStar® Super Cruise Support Services.
